You Can Choose The Next Tim Tam Flavour, But Frankly They’re Both Cursed

I think we can all agree that the humble Tim Tam is the best Arnott’s biscuit going (followed by Shortbread Cream, obviously). However, what isn’t so clear, is what the best flavoured Tim Tam is (although a strong case can be made for the Double Coat).

Every now and then, Arnott’s lets us vote on which new flavour they should start making, and now is one of those times. The flavours though, if I’m honest, are both giving me nightmares.

The first is a Dark Choc Banoffee Flavour which “features two crunchy biscuits sandwiched together with a creamy banana flavoured cream and gooey caramel centre, covered in Tim Tam premium indulgent dark chocolate”. Creamy. Banana. I simply cannot even.

The second is a Caramelised Pineapple Flavour which “features two crunchy chocolate biscuits sandwiched together with a caramelised pineapple flavoured cream and gooey caramel centre, covered in our delicious Tim Tam milk chocolate”. Once again, I truly cannot.

Why do people put fruit in chocolate? It’s clearly wrong. Separately, both fruit and chocolate are truly delicious. Together, they are both ruined and anyone who does it should go to jail. Just one writer’s opinion.

“There’s no denying Tim Tam is Australia’s most loved chocolate biscuit and we have always been passionate about new varieties and flavours,” said Matt Grant, Arnott’s Marketing Manager, in a statement.

“Last year more than 638,000 Aussies participated in the new flavour vote – that’s more than the amount of 101,826 votes tallied in the 2020 ACT general election. We can’t wait to see how many get involved this year and what Australia decides”.
