The Best Margaritas to Celebrate National Margarita Day 2019

National Margarita Day Bar Patron-margaritas Margs

Beauty comes in all forms: iced, straight, blended, salt, no salt and for those of us with a soft spot for 7-Eleven, the slushie. Today we raise a glass, or jug, and celebrate National Margarita Day. It’s a perennial classic, infinitely variable and always refreshing – at least until you find yourself sipping a few more than you intended because they’re so damn tasty.

A marg is a party guest that does well in a variety of settings, but if there’s an ideal spot to enjoy some libations, it’s got to be The Margarita Mile in Dallas, Texas. It’s a curated collection of 17 of the best bars in Dallas, all with their own spin on the cocktail. Now, you might be thinking, “but wait, that’s a minimum of 17 shots,” and you would be right. Drink responsibly, but don’t be a coward.

The bars on The Margarita Mile have an offering for everyone – they’re also handily listed in an app. Purists can enjoy the Classic House Margarita at Smoky Rose, which includes Herradura Silver Tequila and smoked lime juice. For something a little pink and different, try the Prickly Pear Puree Margarita from Matt’s Rancho Martinez.

Can’t make it to Dallas? Let nothing stand in the way of a marg on National Margarita Day. If you’re looking for one of the best margaritas in Sydney, it’d be hard to go past the luxe offering at Bar Patron by Rockpool. They’re serving up the aptly named Millionaire’s Margarita, which features Patrón Gran Burdeos, Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac and nitro chilled finger lime!

We’ll be taking all our cocktails with gold leaf adornments from now on, thank you. PSA: there’s also $10 regular margs at happy hour with complimentary chips and salsa – for those of us on a budget.
