This Life-Sized Monopoly Game Will Bring Your Childhood Dreams To Life Or Start An Argument

Whether you love it or hate it because it started your last household argument, Monopoly is one of those guarantees in life like taxes and The Simpsons. It’ll never go away, and it just keeps getting stronger. Case in point: a massive interactive Monopoly game will let you step inside the game and play it in real life.

Monopoly Dreams is a new interactive game in Hong Kong. Players will be able to step inside a life-sized version of Mr Monopoly’s secret mansion and work together to stop a mischievous thief from stealing Mr Monopoly’s diamond sceptre.

During the game they’ll visit iconic locations from the classic board game and pick up chance and opportunity cards through augmented reality technology and interactive projections.

There are even classic game mechanics like the bank, title deeds and railroads to interact with throughout the mansion. And heads up: there’s also a jail so be on your guard, players!

Monopoly Dreams will be inside The Peak, which keen players will recognise as the most sought-after property in the original Chinese version of the board game. The attraction is slated to open in June 2019, so you’ve got a bit of time to plan your holiday.
