Meet The Treehouse Hotel Of Your Dreams
www.awol.com.au
I don’t know about you, but treehouses are kind of like a portal to my childhood, of days spent watching Hook and planning an elaborate labyrinth of wooden houses among the tree canopies. It’s a dream most of us never thought would come true – until we heard about the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve.
Located in the middle of the Chilean Patagonian Rainforest, in the shadows of the Andes Mountain range, is the Huilo Huilo Reserve. It’s a unique project that merges environmental conservation, local culture and some very cool eco-lodges. You may remember this Magic Mountain lodge that looks more like a hobbit castle than a place to stay. Now, there’s some more ace accommodation to add to the list.
Say huilo! huilo! to the Huilo Huilo Nothofagus Hotel.
Sitting in the mist of a temperate rainforest, Nothofagus emerges from the surrounding canopy like a giant forest tree.
The hotel has 55 rooms – including some dual-level suites – all with amazing views of the rainforest and nearby snow-capped volcano. It even has an awesome rooftop viewing terrace, in case the view from the room wasn’t enough.
And don’t even get me started on the lobby.
Don’t forget to look up.
Incredible.
On arrival at Nothugafus, guests are greeted with a welcome drink and given tickets for self-guided activities across the reserve. They also have access to the complex’s spa facilities (which includes a heated pool, cold, wet and dry saunas and a relaxation room with infrared.) Nice one.
Prices for a double room start at 122,500 CLP ($251AUD).
