Soon You Can Actually Visit The Forbidden Forest From Harry Potter

The Forbidden Forest is off bounds for students, but this March, Dumbledore’s making an exception.

The Warner Bros. Studio Tour of London are unveiling a brand new expansion to their Making of Harry Potter exhibition that’s set to include a replica of the tree-lined Forbidden Forest.

Sitting adjacent to the film studios where the cast created (un)real magic everyday, the Warner Bros. Studio tour lets visitors explore two sound-stages and a backlot filled with original sets, animatronic creations and special effects. There’s the Hogwarts Express to check out, as well as the Dursley’s house at Privet Drive. Potterheads can also view some of the original props and artefacts used in the eight Harry Potter films, attempt to ride a broomstick and sample some butterbeer.

The addition of the Forbidden Forest completes this Harry Potter immersion quite fittingly it seems.

In this new section you’ll be able to wander (lanterns in hand, obvs) through the imposing trees and entwined roots and find the original costumes for Harry Potter characters, including Rubeus Hagrid’s, the half-giant comrade of Harry, Ron and Hermione.

Diving deeper into the forest and you’ll encounter a full size model of Buckbeak the Hippogriff, as well as coming face-to-face with Aragog, the Acromantula. Crawling out from his darkened lair, this enormous spider will appear beside a few spiderlings from his family and show off his impressive 5.4 metre long leg span. Eeeek.

The new expansion has been designed and built by many of the crew members who worked on the original film series, so it’s safe to assume this is as close as you’re going to get to the real deal.

Just don’t be a chicken.

The Forbidden Forest opens on March 31. Plan accordingly.
