The hotel will officially open on Wednesday May 20, offering both Luxe (4 metre Homecamp bell tents) and Luxe Plus rooms (5 metre Homecamp bell tents which come with a minibar), fitted out with bold and beautiful bed linen from Linen House (who will also be providing the robes – luxurious indeed). There’s no need to worry about being exposed to the elements – the rooms will be kept warm by electric blankets, thick quilts and heating.

There is also a general store on the rooftop where you can find everything you’d expect to find at a campsite kiosk – from bed socks, to postcards, to amenities and even French champagne.

The rooms at the temporary hotel will start at $330 per night, including free wifi, morning meditation classes, breakfast hampers, access to showers and bathrooms and even hair tools. The hotel has also partnered with YGAP, offering pushbikes for hire with all proceeds going directly to the charity which aims to ignite social change in disadvantaged communities through empowering community leaders.

The hotel is under the creative direction of Jerome Borazio, also known as St Jerome. Yes, that’s the Jerome, the namesake for St Jerome’s Laneway Festival. Borazio is also behind a number of previous and current unique Melbourne venues including 1000 £ BEND, Sister Bella, St Jerome’s, Ponyfish Island and most recently Melbourne’s only Vegas-style 24 hour wedding chapel, The Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo.
