This June, a three-day culinary adventure will make its debut in Ubud – Bali’s cultural, artistic and wellness capital.
From June 5 – 7, the inaugural Ubud Food Festival will serve up a program of workshops, food forums, cooking classes, wine tastings, food tours and much more, with Indonesian food taking centre stage.
The program brings together many stars of the culinary world, from some of Indonesia’s greats, to international chefs bringing their unique style of food-fusion to the archipelago, plus industry heavyweights in Southeast Asia and beyond. The festival aims to go beyond a typical food festival – while there will be plenty of opportunities for tastings, it will also shine a light on food in all its forms, and the journey from the supplier to the plate.
The lineup includes global icon Sri Owen, Australian barbecue fanatic Dave Pynt, celebrated pastry chef Janice Wong, former head-chef of Melbourne’s Vue de Monde Ryan Clift, Eelke Plasmeijer from much-loved Balinese restaurant Locavore and former head-chef of Indonesia’s first Michelin star restaurant Mandif Warokka.
The festival is the sister event to the successful Ubud Writers & Readers Festival which celebrates its 12th birthday this year.
There are a mix of free and ticketed events, and full program information is now available on their website.
