Gucci is pretty good at what it does – no-one’s here to suggest the internationally beloved fashion label needs to step up their game. But the brains behind the label have gone and done it anyway, debuting a stunning new restaurant space in Florence.
Conceived by creative director Alessandro Michele, Gucci Osteria is a full restaurant at the Gucci Garden and is helmed by internationally renowned chef Massimo Bottura of three-Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana (and Master of None) fame.

“The restaurant is a reminder that Florence has always been a centre of cultural exchange, particularly during the Renaissance,” Bottura said in a media release.
Located at the Palazzo della Mercanzia, the designer compound – formerly known as the Museo — also boasts a label retrospective at the on-site Gucci Galleria and a concept store. The whole point is to “curate a wide range of pieces from collections dating back to the House’s Florentine origins in 1921 and marry these with recent work, memorabilia, ephemera and contemporary art”.
Three of the exhibition space’s rooms are named after hashtags Michele found on Instagram – Guccy, Guccify and Guccification.
Entry to the Gucci Garden costs $12 (€8), with half of all fees taken to be donated to restoration projects around Florence.
