Gin Lovers Rejoice! London’s Getting A Gin Hotel

Ahoy there gin fans! London’s premier gin palace Portobello Road Gin has announced plans to launch a four floor gin distillery on Portobello Road. But this isn’t your regular gin distillery – in fact, it’s a distillery you can eat, drink and sleep in.

The Distillery is London’s first “gin hotel” and a certified Mecca for gin lovers. Situated in the heart of London’s iconic Portobello Market, the new complex will house a micro-distillery, gin museum, specialist gin shop, two bars and restaurants, and three boutique guest rooms overlooking the bustling market strip.

The three guest rooms were inspired by the culture of the local area and designed by Portobello Road Gin’s founding directors. These guys love gin, so it’s safe to assume the in-room minibar will be stocked to the brim with exclusive spirits made on-site, and a bunch of tonic water for all those late night G&Ts.

The new complex will include an expansion of Portobello Road Gin’s The Ginstitute, an hour-long gin masterclass that lets you sample gin, be taken through the spirit’s long and complicated history, and even create your own individual gin recipe. Thanks to the new space, production of Portobello Gin will return to an in-house production (woo!) and will see a range of limited edition and seasonal gin recipes added to the production line.

The ground floor of the building will be occupied by The Resting Room pub where it’s said spirits will be served directly from barrels hung above the bar. One floor up is Gin Tonica, a Spanish-style restaurant and bar that will stock an impressive list of international gins alongside a menu of small plates (and tapas!) from the kitchen.
