Festival Bucket List: What The Festival
www.awol.com.au
What: The offbeat sister to Burning Man, What The Festival is like a cool summer camp for grown ups, complete with late night raves and a wading pool.
Where: In Dufur in Oregon, USA, right near the forests of Mt. Hood National Park.
When: What The is held annually in June, right in the heart of American summer.
Fun fact: One of the festival’s tag lines is “bring your sunblock, leave your funblock”.
Why should you go? Kind of like a stepping stone to the more alternative electronic festivals, What The will bring the weird, the wonderful and a whole lot of colour to your festival experience. It’s like a carnival filled with interactive art installations, yoga classes, people hoola-hooping and nonstop performances from some of the best in dubstep, bass, house, trap and techno. One thing’s for sure – they sure do know how to put on a good show.
