www.awol.com.au
What: A celebration of all things Americana, Out On The Weekend Festival is coming to Sydney and Melbourne to serve up good tunes, great food, craft booze and chill vibes.
Where: Out On The Weekend will be returning to Melbourne at Seaworks in Williamstown, and for the first time it will be finding a home at the Bella Vista Farm in Sydney. Two cities, two weekends, double the fun.
When: This year, Melbourne will be host to the festival on Saturday the October 17, with Sydney’s turn the weekend after on Saturday October 24.
What’s on offer: The lineup includes a stack of great music including Dawes, Tex, John & Charlie (Melbourne only), Kasey Chambers (Sydney only), Sam Outlaw, Robert Ellis (Melbourne only), Jamestown Revival and more.
Make sure you arrive hungry because there’s food trucks galore. Sample smoked meat from Porteño and Bodega, tasty burgers from Mary’s, the powerhouse collection of Melbourne’s Taco Truck, Beatbox Kitchen, All Day Donuts and Juanita Peaches, and some delicacies from The Baron.
There’ll be specialty drinks from Jack Daniels and Lazy Yak and a collection of local wines to wet your whistle.
Fun fact: There’ll also be a bunch of extra pop up shop goodies – Triple R will be broadcasting live from Melbourne, there’s a Neil Young t-shirt exhibition in Sydney and even a few choice vinyls for sale at Grenville Records’ pop up in Melbourne.
Why should you go? We haven’t even scratched the surface here. There’s so much on offer – stuff your face with a delish Mary’s burger, croon along with Tex and the boys and get your denim jacket studded at the Levi’s Tailor Pop Up shop. It’s all good fun.
