You Can Travel The World While Working Remotely For A Year

It’s pretty much living the dream – travel the world while earning money. While this may seem like some sort of far-off ambition reserved for someone like Beyoncé, this could soon become a reality thanks to a start up project called Remote Year.
Remote Year gathers 75 digital nomads from across the globe and sets them off on a 12 month working holiday to 12 destinations. That is, a new city every month for a year. You’ll spend the year exploring local cities, embracing different cultures and travelling with a group of likeminded people, working to earn money all the while. Sounds pretty sweet, right? So what’s the catch?
The main thing you need to be considered for Remote Year is a job – and not just any job; you need to have a job that will allow you to work remotely, with just you, your laptop and some reliable Wi-Fi. While Remote Year can’t find that job for you, they do have a resource of employment websites that might help your search.

So say you’ve got a job that allows you to work remotely – great! Where will you be working?
The itinerary for 2016’s Remote Year has already been finalised and it’s broken up into three legs – South America, Europe and Asia – with the program starting in Montevideo, Uruguay and ending in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
For 2016’s group of hand-picked nomads, they’ll jet off each month to new exotic locations in Argentina, Peru, Turkey, Czech Republic, Serbia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and more.
Of course, nothing is free – there is a monthly fee of $2000 USD ($2813 AUD) due on the first of every month, and a $3000 USD ($4221 AUD) downpayment to reserve your spot. These prices include all travel between destinations, accommodation throughout the year, a guaranteed workspace in each city (with 24/7 access and working internet), and a bunch of activities, events, tours and extra trips.
Applications for 2016’s group are now open so, what are you waiting for?
