Check Out Sydney’s 10m High Lego Christmas Tree

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me,
…A 10-metre tall Lego tree?

It took five people 1200 hours to build (that’s 50 entire days, you know, if you don’t sleep) with 500,000 pieces of Lego and it’s finally here – the largest Lego Christmas tree in the Southern Hemisphere was lit up in Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall last night, and it’s a certified Christmas miracle.

The tree weighs more than a family car, is taller than a two-storey house and has baubles the size of basketballs. It was built by Lego Certified Professional, Ryan McNaught or “The Brickman“, who has previously built an intricate Lego Sydney Opera House and even huge Lego versions of Darth Vader and Yoda. The Brickman is pretty much living the dream.

Check out the one minute time lapse video of the Christmas tree building process below.

The tree is located in front of Westfield Sydney and will stand there until  it is dismantled on December 27, hopefully with no bare feet landing on the finicky building bricks.
