It’s Official! The Mormons Are Coming To Sydney in 2018

Last week, some very mysterious posters proclaiming “The Mormons are coming!” popped up around Sydney, leading some to speculate wildly successful comedic musical The Book of Mormon was finally headed for the Harbour City.

It turns out, those fans of musical theatre and conspiracy theories were bang on, with publicists for the Tony, Olivier, Grammy and Helpmann Award-winning production today announcing the show will premiere at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre on February 28, 2018.

Created by South Park bros Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Frozen composer Robert Lopez, The Book of Mormon – which follows two young missionaries on their first posting to a remote African community – has played 335 consecutive weeks at more than 100 per cent capacity at New York‘s Eugene O’Neill Theatre and has sold out all 1888 shows thus far on London‘s West End.

And, having already notched-up over 250 sold-out performances since opening at Melbourne‘s Princess Theatre in January, getting in on the deeply un-PC action is going to be tough. With tickets on sale from Tuesday, September 5, it’s in your best interests to be on the waitlist.

Oh, and it’s worth noting that the show contains explicit (like, really explicit) language. Hello!
