This Women’s-Only Getaway Is The World’s Best Retreat

Bliss Sanctuary for Women, Bali

Bali’s Bliss Sanctuary for Women, an Aussie transplant that found global fame thanks to a little story called Eat, Pray, Love, has been showered with accolades at the World Luxury Hotel Awards in Switzerland.

Named both the Best Wellness Villa and Best Cultural Retreat in the world, Bliss Sanctuary has seen a huge uptick in solo female travellers in the past decade. With luxury accommodation and a swathe of holistic treatments and experiences like hot stone massages, Hatha yoga and adrenaline-fuelled day trips, it’s easy to see the attraction.

It was founded by Adelaide native Zoe Watson, who’s preparing to open a third retreat in Ubud later in 2018 (there are already retreats in Canggu and Seminyak). The purpose-built campus will feature an infinity pool, outdoor garden bathrooms and treetop yoga, among other things.

“Travelling solo allows you to move at your own pace; challenging yourself, following your interests, meeting new people and, most importantly, discovering beautiful places,” Watson said in a media release.

Bliss Sanctuary offers a number of packages, all of which include unlimited spa and massage treatments, in-house yoga, sightseeing (with a personal driver, if you don’t mind, and gourmet meals, starting at $2935 per person for a seven-day retreat. You know where to find us.
