America’s West Coast is filled with endless stretches of beach, unforgiving desert and large pockets of birch-tree forests. It’s everything you want from the great outdoors, all at once.

California
California, here you come! After a day on the road, here’s some ways to make your night’s sleep that much trendier.
Retro Retreat, Pasadena: Right near the mountains, this very retro-chic airstream caravan is maybe the cutest in California. It’s not technically a tiny home, but it’s got everything you need, a decent price tag and a huge backyard to boot.
Joshua Tree Homesteader Cabin: Head way out west to explore the oasis of California’s Joshua Tree at this rustic homestead.
Miami Dream Airstream, Malibu: This airstream is so good that Tay Tay and Karlie Kloss did a darn photoshoot here for US Vogue. You’ll get to breathe the same air they did which, by the way, is mountain fresh with a tinge of sea salt.
The Tower Retreat, Carmel Valley: This super quiet guesthouse is located in the serene Carmel Valley, just near the Monterey beaches. A very nice escape California’s bustling city centres.
Treehouse, San Francisco: No, not a wood-panelled house with surrounding trees that resembles a tree house. This is an actual, up-in-a-tree house. As you can imagine, the views are incredible.
Oregon
Heading into the Pacific Northwest region is going to bring lots of birch tree forests, self-sustained villages and a whole lot more quirky houses. That’s Oregon for you.
Tipi Belle, Medford: Right near Ashland — home of the Shakespeare Festival — you’ll find this quirky little bubble tent. Located on an organic farm, you’ll be surrounded by the clucking of chickens and crisp farm air. It’s easy on the wallet, too.
Rustic Tiny Home, Portland: A quirky space in the delightful neighbourhood of Woodlawn. And it’s central to pretty much everything in Portland.
The Tiny Inn, Bend: There’s room for you at the tiny inn!
Olivia Beach Camp Cabin, Lincoln City: This house legit looks like a tiny version of those gigantic ones from Big Little Lies. We’re vibing it.
Alberta Arts Cottage, Portland: The self-proclaimed biggest tiny house on the block. Custom built, trendy and central.
Washington
The further north you go, the more green the country gets and the off-road feeling mounts.
Underground Hygge, Orondo: No, you’re not mistaken; this isn’t in New Zealand. Or Hobbiton, for that matter. You can find this cosy little Hobbit Hole in Washington.
Tiny House, Seattle: If you like good location, modern furnishings and ukeleles, book on in.
Jicama Houseboat, Seattle: Technically a little bigger (and sleeps more) than a regular tiny house, but we couldn’t go past including this bad boy. It’s blue! It floats!
Pocket mansion, Seattle: For a tiny house, this one looks a hell of a lot like a home. Lots of books, knick knacks and cosiness. Good for trying tiny living on for size.
Tree House, Whidbey Island: How could you go past another classic tree house? Secluded in nature one hour north of Seattle, this bad boy is the perfect retreat before hitting the slopes further up north.
