Typically, national parks and reserves are a refuge for native Australian animals. To protect them, domestic pets are often not allowed. This makes total sense, but what if you can’t find a dog-sitter and you’re desperate for a little nature?

Luckily, you still have options. We’ve rounded up the 10 most scenic national parks in New South Wales that will still let you bring your very good boy along for the journey. Just please, keep them on a leash and clean up after them.

I admit, I’m a total Gen Y who absolutely included this small tucked away Mosman reserve because I immediately thought of Harry Potter, but whatever, dogs also happen to love it here.

Sand dunes and sunsets, that’s all I need. This sandy national park will allow dogs on leashes on a three-kilometre section of the beach south of Birubi Headland.
