On Ya Broomsticks: The Quidditch Championships Are Coming To Brisbane This Weekend

If you’re Harry Potter-obsessed like us, here’s an important PSA: the Australian Quidditch Championships are happening in Brisbane this weekend and it’s going to be siriusly incredible.

The series will see the NSW Blue Tongues, the Queensland Thunderbirds and the Victorian Leadbeaters battle it out for the coveted state shield, as well as ultimate bragging rights. The first day will be a round-robin competition, with the two best teams taking returning the next day to determine who will reign supreme.

The tournament runs from Saturday October 14 to Sunday October 15 at Brisbane City Football Club, Newmarket. Weekend passes are $10, and are available for purchase via the website.

If all that quidditch spectating makes you thirsty, be sure to get to the Hog’s Head Copperface Jack’s on Sunday to grab a beer with the players.
