Can’t Make It To Venice For Carnevale? No Worries, It’s Actually Coming To Australia

Don your masks, Italy’s Carnevale Festival is coming to Melbourne next February.

Carnevale is Venice’s annual masquerade festival that’s steeped in history, mystery and  a whole lot of glamour. Categorised by the elaborate masks and costumes donned by residents across the city, the event is a true spectacle to see if you’re lucky enough to be in Italy around Easter time. But if you can’t make it to Europe this year, don’t worry: Carnevale is stretching its wings for a special event in Australia.

Taking place on February 11 at The Peninsula, Docklands, Melbourne’s Carnevale Masquerade Ball will transform the CBD’s harbour into mini Venice, complete with all the fixings of Italy’s biggest festival. There’ll be food and entertainment, all themed around the idea of Amore – love. Naww.

Plus, AFL Legend Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico is on as Festival Ambassador – what a champion.

Masks are mandatory, with guests encouraged to dress up in the true style of Carnevale. There’ll even be prizes for best dressed.
