Razzle Dazzle Your Home Decor With Prints From These Epic Aussie Artists

I dare not count the hours I have spent blankly looking around my room, quietly plotting how to jazz it up. For reference, my bedroom has also served as my home office for these past few months.

While my furniture taste has gone to minimalist white, I’ve decided to add colour in the prints that I’ll hang around my house. Do I  know how to talk about art in a fancy way? Hello no, I just go with what looks cool.

To be honest, I was doing way too much research into Aussie artists — yes, I wanted to support local, especially with our arts scene in the difficult place it’s currently in. So now I’m turning it into an article that will hopefully also help you.

Here are nine of my (personal choice) best Australian artists, although I’ve tried to pick a range of styles for all tastes.

I can honestly say that I stumbled upon this Sydney-based MS Paint artist, but I am obsessed. I have too many of her prints already in my home — in fact, I have the very one I’ve included above. Buy them here.

I cannot put into words how badly I want one of these prints. She uses a mixture of photography and digital editing to come up with these 3D images that look like paintings. Buy them here.

#3 Bren Luke

I’m going to say I’m obsessed way too many times in this article, but it’ll be true every time, so just deal with it. I say this because of my new obsession with these pen and ink drawings that look so layered. Buy them here.

#4 Amani Haydar

Just hold on to your hats, because Amani is a self-taught artist. She’s also a lawyer, mum and advocate for women, which shows through in her work and makes me love it more. I would also like to know how she finds the time. Buy them here.

#5 Mulga

I dare you not to smile when you gaze upon these fun, vibrant cartoon-like images. It probably won’t surprise you that Mulga is also a street artist, but you can take a little of his work home with you. Buy them here.

When I hear the words ‘wildlife art’ I have to be honest, I instantly assume it’s not for me. That was before I saw these super modern creations and now I want all of them. Buy them here.

I don’t know if it’s the colours or the soft lines (is that an art term?) but either way I find these pieces so soothing. Many of them even feature famous Sydney beaches, so you can feel like you’re travelling. Buy them here.

#8 Chrysa Koukoura

And now for something completely different… I can’t stop staring at these prints. Chrysa says she’s inspired by graphic design, and you can tell with the eye-grabbing shapes of her work. Buy them here.
