Not to be outdone by Walt Disney World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida, has revealed a magical Christmas makeover for the first time ever.
While the wreaths lining the streets of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are all well and good, it’s after dark that the real show begins: The Magic of Hogwarts Castle sees the lifesize Hogwarts castle “wrapped” by a huge projection featuring Harry Potter-inspired holiday adornments (and an advertisement for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes).

But the fun doesn’t stop there: inside, the projections continue in an eight-minute show, with ghosts signing Christmas carols, students building snowmen and a surprise appearance from a flying Ford Angila.
The whole thing is topped off with a festive fireworks display.
It’s Universal Studios’ first attempt at a holiday show, and it’s a pretty admirable effort. It’ll run at Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios – both of which feature the Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade – until January 7, 2018.
