Wish You Were Here: Tsala Treetop Lodge, South Africa

Sometimes it’s just all about the location. At the Tsala Treetop Lodge in South Africa, you’ll be smack bang in the middle of the famed Garden Route, a coastal vista you’re going to want to tell your friends about.
Look up… way up. Do you see it? Yep, nestled in the ancient forest canopy of the Western Cape is where you’ll find the Tsala Treetop Lodge. A collection of ten raised suites sit amongst the trees, just visible enough through the greenery that it looks like you’re playing your own version of nature peekaboo.
You’ll have a bird’s eye view over South Africa’s greatest Indigenous forest canopy and you can do it all without ever leaving your bedroom.
The property isn’t to shabby either – it’s comfy, modern, and there’s a real ease to everything here, with valet parking, flatscreen TVs and Wi-Fi. Each villa comes with its own private infinity pool which snakes out past the tree-top decking to cantilever over the lush greenery. No big deal.
And it’s not all pretty landscapes either (though, there are plenty of those); guests of the Tsala Treetop Lodge also have access to a number of animal sanctuaries in the region too, including a monkey sanctuary and Tenikwa wild cat sanctuary.
You can also swim with seals in the bluer-than-blue Plettenberg Bay, head out for a plunge at the world’s highest commercial bungy jump (seriously) or just take it easy with some local hikes, golfing or mountain bike riding. Your possibilities are really endless.
Amazing.
