Oh, Patagonia. If we could bottle you up and take you home, we would. Unfortunately we can’t, so we’ve resigned ourselves to staring at pictures of this supernatural wonderland ’til the end of time. But honestly, it’s nothing like seeing it in person, and we’ve found a great spot to take it all in as well.
The Aguas Arriba Lodge is a relaxing spot to plant your feet while you explore the colourful wilds of the southern tip of South America. Found in Argentinian Patagonia right next to the Lago del Derierto, the lodge is a charming and homely space with a killer view to boot.
From your bedroom window you’ll get to enjoy the north face of Mt. Fitz Roy, Mt. Torre and the Vespignani Glacier. You’re only about five kilometres from the Chilean border in a completely remote part of the continent which means it’s all completely untouched and serene. It’s the ideal spot to start hikes, fly fishing trips or even just to relax and enjoy the quiet.
The lodges are eco-friendly wood cabins, made from mostly recycled wood from a forest in northern Patagonia. With six rooms on offer, each is fitted with delightfully modern furnishings, maid service, 24 hour reception and private bathrooms.
