Escape Winter For Half Price Thanks To This Whitsundays Sale

When you think of an island paradise, it pretty much looks exactly like the Whitsundays: white sand beaches, palm trees, crystal clear water, rainbow marine life everywhere and the type of accomodations you dream about.

I’m not sure where most of you went during your lockdown daydreams, but sun, sand and surf was pretty much mine.

Lucky then, that Tourism Whitsundays are currently giving travellers a full 50 percent off accommodation and other experiences on their next cheeky vacay.

The Escape Winter sale is intended to get Queenslanders out and about, exploring their own state and pumping money back into the tourism industry. It’s really such a good time to do it too, before borders open up and the rest of us start clamouring to get there again.

As the website says, “come and experience the breathtaking beauty of The Whitsundays while you have it all to yourself”.

“For many people who may have been to Bali or Thailand or the Greek Islands, now is your opportunity to come and support the beautiful Whitsundays,” Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said in a press conference on Airlie Beach.

As I sit here in my very cold Sydney house, watching the rain pour down outside my window, I’ve decided to torture myself by checking Whitsundays weather, and it’s still mid-20s everyone, so if you’re in Queensland right now and you don’t want to go, please let me take your place.

If, for some strange reason, chilling by the white sand beaches with a cocktail in your hand at all times doesn’t sound like enough of a reason for a weekend getaway, then have yourself a gander at these epic sights and experiences that are uniquely Whitsundays. Or just go hire a whole island, just saying.

It also happens to be whale watching season, right now through to August. So go join a tour and spot yourself a Humpback or two. Also please enjoy this adorable video of a whale playing with dolphin friends. You’re welcome.
