Images of the long fabled White Nutella surfaced on Instagram over the weekend, and the internet lost its goddamn mind.
The thing is, White Nutella is still not something that you can buy, at least not in Australia. So then what’s all the fuss?
Instagram user, @brucesuperc, posted a photo of what appears to be White Nutella, with a review to accompany it. However, they made it very clear they didn’t buy the product.
“Ok, I’m going to be bombarded with messages and DM’s, so let me answer right now,” says the post. “No, this is not a real product, and no, you cannot buy your body’s weight of this product”.
The White Nutella had actually just been sent to brucesuperc by another Instagram user, Queensland-based snack and food reviewer @thesnackcontroller, and it’s home made. So, bad news for us lazy chefs that we can’t just buy it, but great news that we can make it ourselves.
Judging by brucesuperc‘s review, it’s worth the effort. “The spread smells like a Kinder dream, and it tastes even better. It does remind me of one of my ALL-TIME favourite Kinder snacks, the White Schoko-Bons. It has the familiarity of a Kinder product, with a strong hazelnut influence, and creamy white-milk-chocolate (can that be a thing?!)”.
Meanwhile, thesnackcontroller shared a post showing off the White Nutella alongside a packet of mini churros, and my mouth is watering, tbh.
“Name a better partnership, I’ll wait,” says the post. “Liquid crack and crunchy churro chips… This has to be my best, most delightful recipe making this white Nutella. I finally feel I really nailed it”.
In the comment section of the post, where people are obviously begging for the recipe, thesnackcontroller replied “Its just white schoko bons, hazlenut butter and white chocolate”.
