Manly Beach Has Been Named Australia’s Best For The First Time

Manly Beach, Sydney

Australia is replete with incredible beaches. Nobody’s here to argue about that. But, according to the travellers who visit our glittering shores, some are better than others.

TripAdviser is in the process of unveiling its Traveller’s Choice Awards recipients for 2018, and Manly Beach on Sydney’s north shore has taken the title of Australia’s best beach for the first time.

Around 2.3 million beach lovers visit Manly every year, and it’s easy to see why it’s so loved by locals and travellers alike. It was the first beach in Australia to allow daylight swimming back in 1903, held the world’s earliest surfing championship in 1964, and it’s got sun and golden sand for days.
