The Royal Croquet Club Makes Croquet Cool In Brisbane This Month

The last time you heard about croquet was probably from Alice In Wonderland‘s Queen of Hearts (who in hindsight was a really abominable human). Well, they certainly won’t be using flamingos as mallets, but the Royal Croquet Club is back – and they’re going national.

After successful events in Melbourne and Adelaide over the past two years, the cultural festival will travel the country over the summer, kicking off in Brisbane on November 6. As well as croquet pitches for all ages to try their hands at the sport, the masterminds behind the event have teamed up with Melbourne geniuses Grant Smillie & Pete Sofo to bring the best Australia has to offer in food and entertainment, too.

The Brisbane musical lineup is absolutely stellar boasting Kilter, Porsches, Touch Sensitive, WAFIA, Paces and a DJ set from Triple J’s KLP to name a few, it’s a celebration of some of the best upcoming artists from around Australia. While you’re whacking and grooving away, some of Brisbane’s brightest foodies are coming along to keep your energy levels high. Classic American carb-loading comes courtesy of Mighty Mighty and The Defiant Duck, Miss Kay is the Queen Of The Slaws, La Macelleria brings the gelato vibes and Sin Vida provides a Mexican fiesta. Por que no los EVERYTHING?
