As many Melburnites can attest, if you’re looking to get out from the city for a few days, there’s really nothing like the Mornington Peninsula. If the words ‘wine’, ‘tasty food’, ‘hot springs’ and ‘stunning scenery’ make you sit up at attention – then you’re in luck. The ‘Ninsh will be hosting an all-out celebration down the coast this March that’ll let you take in all the very best parts of what’s arguably Victoria’s best region.
After a sold out inaugural event, The Peninsula Picnic is returning to Mornington’s hallowed shores for a day like no other – gourmet food, artisan wines and a killer live music line up to boot – it’s going to be a pretty ripper day.
With live music from the likes of Missy Higgins, Kim Churchhill, Dareen Middleton and a bunch more, you’ll be able to settle in for a day of fun and festivities, and a whole lot of overindulging on insanely good food.
Stalls from the likes of Montalto, Terminus at The Flinders Hotel, The Long Table, Dee’s Kitchen, Max’s at Red Hill Estate and DOC Mornington will be serving an overabundance of delicious treats from fresh and local produce. (We recommend stretchy pants for your outfit du jour – you can thank us later).
As well as the delectable food, there’s be a hand-picked selection of wine from the local Peninsula region, including Circle, Crittenden Estate, Montalkto, Paringa Estate and Prancing Horse Estate.
The Peninsula Picnic will take place on Sunday March 20 at Mornington Racecourse, just an hour south of Melbourne’s CBD. Find more info and tickets here.
