The Napa Valley Wine Train’s brand new Tequila Train experience will kick off on Cinco de Mayo and offers a three-hour tour of the rolling vineyards and delightful villages of California’s Napa Valley.

Once on board, passengers are treated to a four-course meal, featuring dishes like tortilla soup, rubbed flat iron steak, and orange mojo chicken served with Mayan rice. Each course is carefully paired with a variety of tequila from Casa Dragones, an independent small batch producer from Jalisco, Mexico.

Fun fact, Casa Dragones is Oprah Winfrey’s fave type of tequila and, understandably, we don’t argue with the judgement of Oprah, ever.

“I’ve sampled tequilas all over the world, but Casa Dragones is still my go-to; blanco is delightful mixed into cocktails, but the one I love for sipping on its own is Joven,” Oprah said about one of her favourite things last year.

The vintage train is a Napa Valley staple, dating back to 1915. There’s going to be live music, a fully functioning cocktail bar and more Mexican food than you can poke a stick at.

Tickets start at $400 (295USD) per person, and can be booked online. And if you miss out on Cinco de Mayo, don’t sweat it. The Tequila Train will be back in action for National Tequila Day in July, and for Day of the Dead in October.
