Please Enjoy This Very Good Shiba Inu Frolicking In Japan’s Flower Fields

Every great artist has a muse, but I challenge you to find one more inspirational, aspirational and downright cute than Hachi, a Shiba Inu dog owned by photographer Masayo Ishizuki. This very good doggo is the subject of most of Ishizuki’s work, especially when he’s frolicking in Japan’s gorgeous flower fields.

The artistic duo have been posing in flower fields since 2012 and now have more than 21k Instagram followers. It’s not hard to see why they’re so popular when the pictures are this good.

Their photoshoots take place inside Hitachi Seaside Park, a massive 3.5 square kilometre park in Hitachinaka’s Ibaraki Prefecture. The park is most famous for its blue nemophila flower, modelled perfectly here by Hachi.

The park is also home to fields of tulips, sunflowers, poppies, daffodils and kochia bushes, meaning Ishizuki and Hachi never run out of photoshoot opportunities.

The Shiba Inu are known for their spirited personalities, loyalty and happy disposition, so it’s no wonder Hachi looks so content being photographed among the flowers.

The breed is so beloved in Japan that there are three words to describe their personality: “kan-i” refers to their alertness and bravery, “ryosei” means being good-natured, loyal and obedient, and “soboku” describes their easy, natural good looks.

When asked about her muse, Ishizuki said she started taking photos of Hachi in the flower fields because “he looks really sharp in flowers and is ridiculously cute”. Where’s the lie?

Hachi isn’t the only dog taking Instagram by storm. This jet-setting Chihuahua serves up holiday inspo all day, every day, and Kitty the Bernese mountain dog has taken over the St Regis Aspen resort’s account.
