Curb Your 90s Nostalgia With These New Throwback Flavours From San Churro

You know what never gets old? The 90s. Music, style and even the food of this decade is to die and refuse to live in modern times. The other thing that never gets old? Churros. They’re just GOOD, ok?
So I’m not even a little bit mad that San Churro Chocolateria have combined the two things with their new Throwback Edition menu.
I’m not going to lie, at first glance the three new flavours seem a little crazy: Nerds, fairy bread and chocolate crackle. All good things, but do they belong on a serving of churros?
I can only speak for the Nerds flavour so far, but the answer is yes.
Each flavour is a Churros Snack Pack with mini traditional churros and drizzled with melted chocolate. Then they add either Nerds and strawberries (love), slices of fairybread, chocolate freckles (they call them specklies, which I’ve never heard of, but they are freckles) and white chocolate ice cream, or chocolate crackle chunks and milk chocolate ice cream.
“The nineties were known for iconic pop culture and fresh trends – and food was no exception. Dessert time at Aussie backyard parties was synonymous with homemade fairy bread, chocolate crackles and lolly bags,” said San Churro CEO Giro Maurici in a statement.
“We’re delighted to turn back time and help you bring home some fun with an exciting menu that will find a special place in many people’s hearts.”
They’ve also introduced Nerds, fairy bread, chocolate crackle, and honeycomb flavoured hot chocolate, all topped with whipped cream. So you can wash down the sugar with more sugar.

The best part is, they’re also introducing throwback pricing for the menu, with Snack Packs going for $11 instead of $17.
Look like I said, weird, but oddly delightful. You can pick it up or order home delivery via DoorDash, Menulog, Deliveroo and Uber Eats every Thursday from April30 until May 28 between 4 and 8pm.
Go on, we all deserve a treat.
