The UK Has A New Pub Named After Its Littlest Royal
They’ve been named for authors, politicians, historians and, now, pint-sized bundles of royal cuteness – yep, an English pub has been named in honour of two-year-old Princess Charlotte.
People are obsessed with the royals, so, as you’d expect, visitors are flocking from all over to cheers at The Princess Charlotte.
The pub opened to customers last December in Colchester, Essex, which is about a 90-minute drive from London. And business has been thriving.
“The response from local guests has been fabulous and the pub team have worked hard ensuring that everyone is well looked-after,” Heydon Mizon, The Princess Charlotte’s managing director, told People. “We have been serving around 2500 meals each week and they have needed our biggest dray lorries [delivery trucks] to deliver the beer.”
The humble pub has a homey feel. Think roaring fires, hardwood floors and, most importantly, pub classics like world-class beers, incredible wines and proper English comfort food.
The princess in question toddled off for her first day at pre-school this week, so it’ll be a good 16 years before she’ll be served a beer at the Princess Charlotte.
