The Northern Territory Just Launched A Massive Summer Travel Sale So Grab The Akubra

If you’ve been eyeing off the Northern Territory the last few months, you’re not alone – everyone’s been Googling the joint. Now is the time to finally book that iconic Aussie trip, seeing as Tourism NT just launched a new $5 million incentivised tourism campaign.

The Northern Territory Government is opening their borders in the best way possible – by offering Australians discounts on holiday packages over the summer. The Never Before NT Summer Sale will knock off $200 for every $1000 spent, aiming to entice tourism back into the region.

Available from October 1 to March 31, 2021 for bookings and travel during those dates, you can experience the Northern Territory’s rich cultural history, abundance of wildlife, iconic landmarks, and breathtaking scenery with more bang for your buck.

As part of the campaign, these NT summer packages actually offer an extra discount of up to $1000 on a Northern Territory holiday, allowing you to save on flights, accommodation, tours, attractions and hire vehicles. You just need to book through their partners, including travel agents like Helloworld, Flight Centre and Holidays of Australia.

Tourism NT Executive General Manager of Marketing, Tony Quarmby, says that Aussies spent more than $64 billion on overseas holidays, which won’t be a surprise to many. If there’s one silver lining from this pandemic, it’s how it has forced us to reevaluate the abundance of epic travel destinations we have on home soil.

And honestly, the NT should be on every traveller’s bucket list – especially those of Australians. It is not only a place teeming with unreal wildlife, nature and adventure, it is one way to feel deeply connected to country and learn more about why this area is sacred in indigenous culture.

“We have never delivered an incentivised national summer campaign of this size before,” says Quarmby.

“Summer in the Northern Territory is the opportunity all Australians have been waiting for – spectacular attractions, wide open spaces and an opportunity to explore the region at a once-in-a-lifetime low price.”

With international travel off the cards until at least next year and visitors to the Territory not requiring to self-quarantine for the standard two-week period since July 17, hitting up the NT is a no brainer.  For more information, click here.
