London Has The Perfect Hotel For People Who Hate Small Talk

If you enjoy walking up to the front desk to check-in and making idle chit-chat with the concierge, waving them goodbye when you leave for the day and hello again when you return, this is not the hotel for you. In fact, it’s a hotel for people who actively avoid all of the above: A hotel without staff.

Over two locations in Riverside and Chiswick — two of London’s most affluent suburbs — you can find the Muse Haus hotels. They’re impeccably maintained town houses that under any other circumstance, would have you ask, “Who on earth can afford to live there?”

Well, you can. Booking a night at the Muse Haus gives guests access to a PDF of instructions, a code for the key box and… that’s it. They enter the fully serviced house, lay down their bags and jump on the bed without any interaction with another human.

The house is sort of like an Airbnb-meets-share house-meets-luxury hotel. It’s a shared environment used for short or long stays with full hotel amenities and regular cleaners. You’ll likely see lots of other people walking around, but they’ll mostly keep to themselves.

If you do have any problems or questions about your stay, you can message the hosts and get a swift reply.

Is the staffless hotel the way of the future? Only time will tell.
