Beastie Boy Mike D Will Be Pouring Wine At This New LA Restaurant
British celebrity chef April Bloomfield and her business partner Ken Friedman have locked in a date for their new American venture – the very British pub-sounding restaurant Hearth and Hound.
But perhaps the most intriguing thing about it is that the establishment will boast a star-studded staff, with famous rapper, drummer and fashion designer Michael Diamond, AKA Beastie Boy Mike D, dropping the mic and picking up a cocktail shaker for his new bar role at the new LA venue.
While he won’t exactly be whipping up mean mojitos, he is taking charge of the wine list. The self-confessed vino-obsessed vocalist is teaming up with LA wine-master Taylor Parsons to create a truly delicious wine list for Hearth and Hound.
The restaurateurs have locations across the globe, including NYC’s first gastropub, The Spotted Pig, which has earned a Michelin Star seven years in a row and is famous for its seasonal British and Italian eats.
Bloomfield has gathered some of the USA’s most talented chefs to craft a menu she tells Bloomberg is “a little bit of fresh, a little bit of fat”. Expect loads of fresh vegetables, French-style rotisserie or open-hearth prepared poultry and mouth-watering steaks.
To get a seat in the private dining room, reservations are a must. Hearth and Hound is set to open on September 22.
