It’s looking like the food truck trend that has been sweeping Melbourne for the last several years is here to stay – at least, that’s what the minds behind Mr. Burger are betting on.
This spring, the city’s first and only permanent food truck park will open on Thornbury’s High Street, spearheaded by the Mr. Burger team. The food truck park, called Welcome to Thornbury, is being built on a site that once housed a car factory.
The lot has space to accommodate six trucks at a time, and the lineup, which will rotate on a monthly basis, is set to include a wide variety of Melbourne’s 50+ food trucks. It’s also set to become one of Melbourne’s biggest beer gardens.
With a 700 person license that stays open ’til 1am, and space to park 105 bikes on site, plus an indoor function room and art space set to open later in the year, this truck stop-themed foodie heaven is sure to attract Melbourne’s fashionable north-siders in droves. Happy truckin’!
