This Giant Inflatable Maze Is Popping Up In Melbourne

In news that will excite anyone who was, or still is sexually confused by David Bowie in Labyrinth, Melbourne is copping the Katena Luminarium, a massive inflatable maze in September.

The giant art installation has already toured through the United States, Europe, Taiwan and the rest of Australia, leaving a trail of incredible Instagram posts in its wake.

Inside, the maze is flooded with incredible lights and soundscapes, and it has better architecture than anything inflatable has any right to.

So it’s less about getting from A to B, and more about sitting down and taking a minute inside the kaleidoscope of colours and shapes.

Katena will be set up at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren, Victoria from September 27 through October 6. The inflatable maze is open from 11am-4pm on weekdays and 10am- 5pm on weekends, and you can pre-book tickets now from the Bunjil Place website.

It’s just one of the pop-ups coming to Melbourne in the last half of 2019. There’s also a Once Upon A Time In Hollywood-themed bar, and a hot chocolate festival is running all month long in August in the Great Ocean Road. And come 2021, Moulin Rouge! The Musical will premiere in Australia in Melbourne’s Regent Theatre.
