FYI, There’s A Restaurant In London Devoted Entirely To Potato Chips

We all love a hyper-specific food shop. There’s already one dedicated to lasagna, and another to avocado. There’s even restaurants for peanut butter, cereal and fried pickles. So, what’s left? Potato chips, it seems.

Yep, London is home to a restaurant devoted entirely to chippies.

Located on Old Compton Street in Soho, HipChips serves up heritage potato chips with fancy dips. Ooh la la.

And “hip” chips they are – the restaurant dishes up an array of fancy potato varieties — including Highland Burgundy, Violetta, Shetland Black, Salad Blue and Red Emmalie on the reg.

When it comes to dips, visitors can choose from a veggie ceviche, baba ganoush, Moroccan yoghurt, smoky cheese fondu, beetroot and lemongrass marmalade and katsu curry. There are sweet dips for dessert, too, like chocolate praline mousse, campfire s’mores, peanut butter and jam, and crème brûlée.

You can wash it all down with a selection of craft beers, wines and soft drinks.

HipChips says it flavours are seasonal, so expect an entirely new selection when the weather turns. Here’s hoping Australia’s greatest flavour, Light ‘n’ Tangy, gets a look in (don’t fight me on this).

But arguably the most exciting part is that HipChips does chips dipped in cinnamon sugar. Cinnamon sugar chips! Hoo, boy.

Prices start at £4.50 (AU$7) for a small serving with two dips, £6.75 (AU$11) for a medium serving with three dips, and £11.50 (AU$18) for a large serving with six dips.
