There’s A New ‘Friends’ Central Perk Lego Set, So That’s Your Weekend Plans Sorted
YOU GUYS! You know how no-one told you life was gonna be this way? Your job’s a joke, you’re broke and even your love life’s DOA. It’s kind of like like you’re always stuck in second gear and it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month or even your year. Well, never fear because there’s a new Lego set and it’s basically all you need.
It’s no secret I’m a Lego fan: I squealed at the grand piano and the mini Ikea furniture released earlier this year. But, if you ask me, the new Friends Central Perk Lego set is the nostalgic perk-me-up we all need for the shit show that is 2020.
When all 1070 pieces are built, the set measures 11cm high, 29cm wide and 22cm deep. For real, the details on this thing are incredible.
There’s the iconic seating area, of course, which is removable. There’s also a stage for Phoebe to perform on, a service counter with little coffee cups and cookies, the Central Perk front window — hell there’s even set lights.
Of course, there’s also seven Lego figurines, one for each friend plus Gunther — because who would make the coffee otherwise? Duh. My only question is, where is Janice?
So anyway, why now?
September is actually World Friendship Month (don’t worry, I also totally missed the memo) and we’re in the. middle of a particularly stinker of a year, so why shouldn’t we have some 90s sitcom nostalgia to get us through? Especially as the entire Friends catalogue is currently streaming on Stan and Netflix.
If I’m honest, the best part about this whole thing is that the Friends Central Perk set is only $89.99. Any Lego nerd will know this is a ridiculously good price. Normally the price tag is the only thing stopping me from filling my house with Lego sets.
