Festival Bucket List: Latitude Festival, UK
www.awol.com.au
What: Regularly named one of the best festivals in the UK, Latitude Festival is like Glastonbury’s cooler and calmer little cousin.
Where: In Henham Park, near Southwold, in Suffolk, England.
When: Annually in July – next year’s dates are July 14 to 17, 2016.
Capacity: ~35,000 lucky punters.
Fun fact: Each year organisers dye a field of sheep in bright colours, this year saw hundreds of pink sheep wandering around the sleepy holiday town of Southwold – and don’t worry, it’s natural dye that’s PETA-approved so there’s no harm done to the sheep.
Why should you go? Hidden DJ performances, opera by the lake, comedians galore and did we mention the always-awesome musical lineup? This year saw the likes of alt-J, Portishead, The Vaccines, SBTRKT and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds grace the stage. The vibe is chill, the people are friendly and there’s heaps of exploring to be done – it’s the perfect summer festival.
