Science personality and triple j regular Dr Karl Kruszelnicki (or Dr Karl as he’s more commonly known) is taking his years of celestial knowledge on the road as he hosts an astronomy weekend, celebrating the vast outback sky from arguably the best vantage point in the world – Uluru. He is presenting the second Uluru Astronomy Weekend in August – the perfect place for space fanatics of all ages to learn more about the universe with a program of free engaging discussions on the structure of the cosmos, astro photography, a satellite market place and heaps of other space-related information to help you embrace your inner nerd.
It’s the perfect environment for stargazing with the new moon bringing low humidity and the remoteness of the location generating next to no light pollution. There will also be accompanying events like the Stellar Sounds of Silence – a bush tucker inspired buffet followed by a guided our of the outback night sky – plus an Astro Trivia Lunch and a Galaxy Star Dinner.
The Uluru Astronomy Weekend takes place from Friday August 14 to Sunday 16. Click here for more info.
