David Lynch Has Gone & Curated A Music Festival

David Lynch, legendary director of cult classics Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, is a man of many talents; he’s a storytelling genius, an ~interesting~ musician, a visual artist, an actor and now, a music festival curator. That’s right, David Lynch has his own festival, and it’s just as bizarro as you might expect.

David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption will take place this October at the very cool Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, with a lineup boasting St. Vincent, Questlove, Rhye, Jon Hopkins and Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters.

In celebration of the long-awaited third season of Twin Peaks finally coming to our screens, Sky Ferreira, Xiu Xiu and the show’s original composer Angelo Badalamenti will be performing music from the show.

The festival will also feature talks, special exhibits, virtual reality experiences, meditation classes and screenings of rarely seen David Lynch short films and classics. Twin Peaks stars Kyle McLachlan and Laura Dern will be there, as well as Debbie Harry and Chris Stein from Blondie, comedian Mel Brooks and architect Frank Gehry – because what else would you expect from a David Lynch festival?

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the festival will benefit the David Lynch Foundation, who work to eradicate trauma and toxic stress among at-risk populations through the promotion of transcendental meditation.

David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption will take place on October 8 and 9 at the Ace Hotel Theatre in Los Angeles. More info here.
