Feast Your Eyes Upon These Dachshunds Wearing Xmas Sweaters
If, like me, your favourite thing about Christmas is getting to see dogs dressed up in knitted yuletide sweaters, then prepare yourself, because we’ve just hit the mother lode.
See, it turns out that every year, a small army of dachshunds descend upon London‘s Hyde Park, kitted up in their best Christmas gear.
[related_articles]63428,48843,48838[/related_articles]The perfectly named Hyde Park Sausage Walk has been an annual tradition for a little while now – owners and their perfect pups meet up at a local cafe before moving on to a large space in the Park, where the dogs can roam free, sniff each other’s butts, and generally get to know one another.
Of course, a gathering of dachshunds would be beautiful in and of itself, but the whole thing is made that more perfect by the inclusion of the Christmas get-ups.
The outfits sported by the pups range from traditional woollen sweaters, to full-on doggo cosplay.
There’s a prize going for best-dressed, so owners really go the extra mile to make their dogs look particularly festive.
Better yet, brands like to get involved, so there’s always a whole bunch of treats going around for the excellent pupperoonies to snack upon. This year, Denzel’s Treats got on board, so attendees got to fill their little bellies to their hearts’ content.
The event is spearheaded by a young doggie named Winston and his owners. Winston loves the whole day, from the treats to the run-arounds, but it looks like he’s a particular fan of all the doggie kisses that he gets.
Oh, and even better yet, the Hyde Park Sausage Walk isn’t just a once a year event. Winston’s already planned another get-up, set to go down in the new year.
So, whether you own a couple of Dachshund yourself, or just want to get amongst all that canine action, why not consider booking yourself a London trip?
And in the meantime, check out the story of Crusoe, the travelling pup.
