Canberra’s Huge New Music Festival Is Worth Travelling For

So, Canberra went and got cool while no one was looking. From their zoo that lets you sleep beside bears to the original freakshakes, their excellent art hotels and the country’s best bacon, Canberra has dusted off its sleepy reputation and is quickly becoming one of the coolest little capitals in the world. Now, new music festival Spilt Milk is giving you let another reason to visit our nation’s beating heart.

Leading the lineup is Flume, who will be playing the only Canberra show of his huge world tour at Spilt Milk and showing off brand new album Skin. He’s joined at the top of the bill by Violent Soho, DMA’S, Sticky Fingers, Gang of Youths and his ‘Smoke & Retribution’ collaborator Vince Staples. Other acts on the bill include Slumberjack, Paces, Cosmo’s Midnight, Hermitude and L D R U, Vera Blue, All Day and Canberra natives Peking Duk, . Check out the full lineup below.

Better yet, the music isn’t all Canberra has to look forward to. Spilt Milk are bringing some of Australia’s best eats – like the world famous Gelato Messina, burger institution Mary’s and Bao Stop – to the festival. On top of that, artists Vans The Omega,  George Rose, Phibs and Voir have all been locked in to show off their creative works on site at the event.

It all goes down on Saturday December 3 at Commonwealth Park; pre-sale tickets for those who’ve signed up through the website are on sale today.
