Beyoncé Filmed Her New Video For ‘Spirit’ Here, And You Can Visit For Yourself

beyonce spirit video Havasu Falls

Say what you want about the new Lion King, but it has Beyoncé in it, so if you’re hating on it – boy, bye. Ahead of the film’s release, the living legend released ‘Spirit’, an original song written for the flick, and last week she dropped a music video (and whole LK-inspired album). And it’s stunning (duh).

The video shows Beyoncé, her daughter Blue Ivy and a crew of dancers in the middle of red sand fields and deep orange cliffs. But it’s the blue-green waterfall that has most people talking, and scribbling down a new dream holiday destination.

Turns out, that destination is Havasu Falls, and it’s inside the Grand Canyon in Arizona. And yes, you can visit.

Havasu Falls is part of the Supai campground, a massive stretch of land that runs along Havasu Creek. On February 1, a limited number of camping permits are released for the year, costing US$100 (AU$143) for a weekday night and US$125 (AU$179) for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Reservations must be for three nights and four days, upping the total cost to between AU$429 and AU$537 per person. Camping permits are managed by the Havasupai Tribal Council, the traditional owners of the land, and all reservations are made on the Official Havasupai Tribe website.

Once you’re inside Supai campground, you can set up camp wherever you want – as long as you’re being safe and being respectful of the land and other travellers.

After you’ve checked ‘Spirit’ off your list, you can keep your Bey music video tour going with a trip to Paris to visit the The Louvre, where she and Jay-Z filmed their six minute tour de force for ‘Apeshit’.
