Lady Gaga and Beyonce, hot chips and ice cream, avocado and chocolate mousse are often what comes to mind when you think of weird but wonderful mashups. Not many people think of beer and a 5km run but hey, there’s a first time for everything. The Beer Run is a fun-run that doubles as a bar crawl, and we’re here for it.
[related_articles]71713,65750,66044[/related_articles]The Beer Run takes competitors to five breweries that’re pouring special beers for the runners. Rest assured, you’re not going for time here. Each run is expected to take between 2-3 hours to give you plenty of time to have fun at the bars, and travel between them safely.
The Beer Run is coming to Sydney on October 6, Melbourne on October 13, hitting Brisbane on October 20 and rolling into Perth on October 27. The breweries haven’t been announced yet, but the $55 entry will get you a drink at each venue.
All runners will also get a novelty bottle opener medal and a Beer Run numbered bib, with some surprise goodies if you cross the finish line.
Tickets for the Beer Run are on sale for each city now. The last Beer Run events sold out pretty quickly, so if you’re brave enough to attempt a boozy 5km run you’d better get in quick.
