The Indonesian Government has just passed a highly controversial new law that bans unmarried couples cohabitating, and restricts many other personal freedoms.

Individuals who are found guilty could find themselves with a 12-month jail sentence.

While this new law applies to both Indonesian citizens and foreigners, its less likely tourists will be arrested as the law only allows for prosecution if the a report is made by the parents, children or spouse of the accused.
