The votes are in. If you’re still deciding which beach you’d like to be warming your body on the next time you head to Europe, set your sights on Croatia.
Stiniva, a beach on the small island of Vis, has been named the best beach in Europe by tourism organisation European Best Destinations. The picture of perfection, this private island is found on the southern part of the island, away from crowds and civilisation.
Stiniva is so remote, the only access is by taxi boat by the nearby Rukavac cove. If you’re willing to hoof it, there’s also a steep and narrow path to the secluded enclave. The beach boasts crystal clear waters and a sea entrance that stretches only four metres wide.
Spain’s Tossa de Mar came in second on the esteemed list, and was celebrated for its coastal profile and its cultural offerings on the shores of the Mediterranean. It was soon followed by The Concha in San Sebastian, a popular tourist beach best loved by youngsters and surfers.
