ALDI Is Slinging Europe’s Cheapest Five-Course Lunch At Its Purpose-Built Bistro

ALDI Bistro Munich

When you’re travelling on a shoestring budget, sometimes all you want is a tasty meal that won’t break the bank.

Now, for that very reason, German supermarket giant ALDI has opened its very own bistro in the courtyard of Munich’s Old Academy, a 16th century school building next to St Michael’s Church.

All of the meals are made using ALDI ingredients, as is to be expected, and are served up with the brand’s signature quirk. Comfort foods like penne Bolognese, blueberry muffins and raspberry tiramisu all feature on the menu, and the best part is that a five-course lunch will set you back a measly $12 (€7.99).

The Munich bistro is constructed from six shipping containers and was originally erected in Cologne. It’s open seven days a week.
