In an unexpected turn, the newest travel trend is alpacas, according to Airbnb. The home sharing website has nearly 2,500 listings globally with the word “alpaca” in the title, with more and more guests booking these homes to immerse themselves in all things alpaca.

For reals though, apparently these four-legged friends make the perfect hosts. Airbnb says alpacas are famously neat and organised, hypoallergenic, have soft pads on their feet so you won’t hear them clomping around at night, keep lawns looking perfectly manicured and some are even fully housetrained, should you want a more, er, up-close-and-personal alpaca experience.
